Celtic 1-Man City 1: End of the Friendlies, Huzzah!
By: Matt | August 6th, 2008Celtic and Man City tied today at Celtic Park 1-1 in Celtic’s last friendly before the start of the regular season. Celtic’s only goal came from Paul McGowan put the biscuit in the basket. McGowan had a chance to put Celtic ahead in the late stages of the game after my player of the game Paul Caddis played a beautiful cross to McGowan who Sebo-ed the ball over the bar. Caddis played a majority of the match on the right wing and looked good doing this. With Naka possibly being out, Caddis should get the starting nod on Sunday on the right wing, leaving Barry Robson and Scott Brown in the middle. While a 1-1 tie against a mid to top level EPL team might be a mixed result for some, not a lot of regulars got a lot of time. With Bobo Balde, Thomas Gravensen, and Derek Riordan not only playing, but starting you know Ginger Baws is just putting 11 bodies out there for a work out. The real star of the match were the new electronic ad boards on the sidelines, which looked sharp. Nothing really else to say besides it is time for real games! YAS!

Matt - don’t know if you were able to catch the match but Celtic looked great.

Paul Caddis looked great, loads of confidence and energy.
Good to see Paddy McCourt get a run out, looked a bit nervous, but let me tell you, he is class. He is going to give fullbacks in the SPL nightmares if gets a match time.
Also- Stephen Ireland is now a dead ringer for David Cross. Shaved head, beard, yikes.

@Matt-Caddis looked really good. If Naka is still injured he should start on Sunday, perhaps even if Naka is not hurt. McGowan looked pretty good to. Paddy looked nervous as you said, but stepping onto the pitch for your boyhood team might do that. Hopefully he gets the nerves out and stays healthy this year.
