Celtic 3-Killie 1: Jepordy
By: Matt | September 21st, 2008
Answer: Georgios Samaras. What is Greek strikers that we signed for a million pounds that continue to score, Alex? Georgios Samaras netted a Daily Double today and helped Celtic beat Kilmarnock today 3-1. Samaras got his goals from a seemingly end to end run that was breathtaking and a penalty. Celtic fans could hardly believe their eyes when New Karaoke Star Mike McCurry awarded them two penalties in the game, perhaps Mike was told to give Celtic some chances after video of him singing “Simply the Best” found their way to the internet. Mike McCurry could not stop Georgios Samaras and Shaun Maloney who continued to play well for Celtic. Killie’s only goal came late into the game when Gary Caldwell was red carded for handling a ball in the box and the subsequent penalty was converted. Overall, Celtic dominated play and came out with an important three points today. After the jump, you can see Samaras’ long goal run.

I hate to be pedantic but…..It was £1m not $1m we signed Sammy for.:-) Still I’m sure the (U)SSM would have loved to have paid Man Citeeh in dollars.
Mind you, they can probably wave the fee now that they are the richest club in the world…..
Great performance and great win. Big Sammy just gets better.

Brown’ passing looked just awful in that game; he was putting ball after ball over the touchlines left and right… by the end you could tell he was almost afraid to kick anything other than square balls. Everyone at the pub was waiting for him to be subbed out but it never happened. We were wondering how he was getting (and making hash out of) so many touches, while Crosas was getting so few.

Scott Brown has certainly continued his struggles. He had a decent second half against Wednesday, but was pants on Sunday. I am hoping Crosas gets the start on Wednesday against Livingston and continues to impress to the point that Strachan cannot keep him out of the squad.

I wasn’t impressed with Brown, either, and I haven’t been for a long time. Samaras signed at a bargain rate and performs well above expectations, but Brown and Skippy sign lucrative contracts and subsequently shit themselves in crunch time. Skippy receives a temporary pardon because his big ass has been limited by injury.
Start Crossas, Caddis, and Sheridan against Livingston.

Chris-Don’t forget his large arse netted thirty goals last year, so he gets some reprive. I think Skippy’s been struggling because last season defenses would forget about him and he always seemed to find rebounds to put in. I think the back lines of the SPL are focusing on finding him for 90 minutes to prevent this.
