Celtic Advance in League Cup, Romp Again in SPL
By: JT | October 1st, 2007After my shenanigans at a wedding in southern Illinois this weekend, the body and mind are incredibly weak, so I’ll just give you the quick lowdown on Celtic’s two matches from the week that just finished up.
Artur Boruc made his performance against Hibernian the previous weekend a distant memory with an absolute blinder against Dundee in the CIS Cup. Scott McDonald, the smallest man on the pitch, got the Celts on the board first with a header. Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink completed a nice move to take the lead to 2-0. Boruc made save after save, then Dundee closed the gap to 2-1 after a scramble in the box. The Boys held on to advance to the quarterfinals against Hearts on Halloween. The highlights:
The aforementioned Scott McDonald continued his magnificent play with a hat trick against Dundee United on Saturday at Celtic Park. Aiden McGeady was all over the place, contributing assists on two of the Aussie’s goals, the latter being the pick of McDonald’s trio. The second score was set up by a sweet “get the hell out of my way” run by Scott Brown who looks to be back to top form after a miniscule dip. For your viewing pleasure, I present:
I’ll be back tomorrow with a preview of Wednesday’s Champions League match with some Italian team that you’ve probably never heard of, and introduce you to some of their first team squad. They’ve got this Brazilian kid that looks like a real prospect.

Any predictions on the Celtic v Milan scoreline?

Form and atmosphere favor Celtic, but Milan is still Milan and know how to get it done in the Champions League. I’m not certain yet on my prediction, but a draw is likely in the cards. Whether there are goals are not is very much in doubt.
