Celtic announces Pre-season schedule

By: Matt | May 28th, 2008

Today Celtic announced their pre-season friendly schedule. In between Euro 2008 glory for a certain goalie who supports the Catholic Church, jet set vacations to places where none of us “normal folk” can afford, and pleading with the board to sign Tommy Gravensen to a 10 day contract just so he can bring his bird (Link VERY NOT SAFE FOR WORK ENVIRONMENT!) to the team beach sessions, the Bhoys will mix in a football game or two. North American Tims will not be spoiled with two trips in two years to North America and will have to view Celtic from Sentanta, FSC, or Channel 67. In fact, rumors of trips to Asia or Australia seem to just be rumors, as the Bhoys will only travel as far as the continent this summer. Although, one consolation will be the fact that Celtic will be taking on Team America of the English Premier League in Fulham. Lots of old foes in the summer to be played, and Celtic will also partially test the controversial topic of how Celtic would do in an English League as the Bhoys will take on five English teams this summer. There will also be a rematch with recent jail birds and 2003 UEFA Cup foes Porto, though this time it will probably be a little less at stake. Other highlights include matches against Feyenoord, Tottemham, and Middlesborough. Full schedule after the jump!

I particularly find it humorous that Celtic is travelling to Portugal to play two EPL teams, but beggars cannot be choosers I suppose. Celtic fans can work on their pasty complexion better in Portugal than England/Wales…

Thanks to Celtic players for not dropping out of the Scotland-Czech friendly on Friday. That’s one sure way to get me on one side or the other of the Glasgow hatefest, and right now, Rangers players are the ones whining and not doing their national duty. Point to Celtic.

I feel for the Usa Tims. Feel that we should be over in the states and North America. Decent pre-season though.

Sorry about the lack of time I have been here Matt, been very very busy…
