Celtic Shorts 09.06.07–Seriously, 19-0. Not American Football Either.
By: JT | September 6th, 2007Celtic news is so tough to come by at the moment that I’m actually going to report on the club’s U19 match last night in Italy. And what a match it was. The Bhoys hammered Italian side Cambiano by the absurd margin of 19-0, and to top that off the match was broadcast nationally on Italian TV. I’m sure this result has Milan quaking in their boots about having drawn the Celts in the Champions League again! Incredibly, this is really Celtic’s U18 team plus a few players taking part in a U20 tourney. The talent pipeline just keeps on producin’ the goods.
Aiden McGeady has finally realized that the game is not all about him and his bad haircuts. Turns out there are ten other players on the pitch. What a fantastic revelation! He can still be incredibly frustrating to watch, but for the most part he’s toned down the full speed runs that turn into nothing because he’s not looking to pass. The guy is only 20, and his best days are ahead of him, for Ireland and for the Hoops, though some patience will still be required.
Artur Boruc admitted that he and Lee Naylor are still good friends after their public bust up right before halftime of the Spartak Moskva match last week, taking responsibility for letting his emotions get the best of him. I’m glad they didn’t actually throw hands cause that would have been real bad news for ol’ Nayls and his jaw.
The recently departed Thomas Gravesen claims he’ll do his best for David Moyes at Everton after the Scotsman rescued him from his Celtic “hell”. I’m not the most religious guy in the world, but its always been my understanding that your own actions get you damned to hell. Such is the case here.

Sounds like Cambiano would be a mid-level team in Scotland.
