Celtic Still Alive in the Cup!
By: Matt | April 8th, 2008
Admit, when you saw that headline you thought “What is this guy on? OBVIOUSLY, Celtic lost to Aberdeen a few weeks back in the Scottish Cup, which was the beginning of the downward spiral for the team to current sorry state of affairs! Come off it Matt!” Well you would be correct AND incorrect in that thought. While the Bhoys in the Hoops are filled with problems right now, the Ghirls in Green and White are not only serious contenders for the title, but have just advanced recently to the semi finals of the Unite Scottish Cup! Not only did they beat a Hamilton Academical team in the quarter final that they previous lost to 2-1, they did in style to the scoreline of 12-0! 12-0! I don’t think they Bhoys scored 12 goals in all of March! Ironically the Celtic Ghirls will face Aberdeen in the semi-finals of the cup, at a location to be announced. They also return to premier league action this Sunday at 2 pm at Strathmore Park.
While I fully subscribe to the “Over and Over” mentality when supporting Celtic, if the first team is not wetting your appetite for quality football and you live in the Glasgow area, I suggest checking out the ghirls team. The team is obviously talented, and we’ve owe it to them to support all in the green and white. You can also check out the Under 19s team as well. Tomorrow the Under 19s will be taking on Hibernian in the quarter final of the Scottish Youth Cup. The Under 19s have won the cup a record 11 times, but are looking for revenge on the Huns Under 19s after last years defeat in the finals. The Hibs youth team have given the young Bhoys trouble and are snapping at the heels of the Bhoys in the table and it should be a good game.
This is just a wee reminder that even though the first team is struggling, the future is bright and it is in green and white!
C’mon the Hoops!

I wonder if the women’s team might be able to hold the first team scoreless. I mean, it doesn’t seem to be much of any achievement lately.
WO-MON the HOOPS!

Obviously we need to bring up one of the strikers to replace JVoH and the leftback for Naylor and 1 of the centrebacks for Calamity Caldwell.

Haha judging by the rest of the context of the message, I’d assume and hope so too…;-)
If not, well I think Biron has blown any chance of the Ghirls coming to the States
