Donati, Faty & The Words of Cesar
By: JT | June 18th, 2007Milan owned but well traveled winger Massimo Donati is flying to Britain this week for talks with Celtic. Donati’s rated at £3 million, which is very much in the Bhoys price range. He’s also being tracked by several mid-table Italian clubs, so the prospect of Champions League football makes the move to Parkhead very attractive for him.
Celtic are interested in a loan move for Roma’s French U21 defensive midfielder Ricardo Faty. Described as the “new Vieira”, Faty has stated his desire to gain more first team experience, and Celtic Park would be an excellent place to do so. Since Celtic have been mentioned in the same breath as Sampdoria hardman Gennaro Delvecchio, another defensive midfielder, it would seem to be an “either or” proposition. The rumor is listed under “Long Shot” though, and since another rumor in that category is Bellamy going to Roma or Juve, which I find quite comical, it’s a deal I wouldn’t put too much hope into occurring.
Newcastle’s Irish international winger Alan O’Brien is being tracked by Celtic, but a move to a Championship club is more likely. Or so says the Sunday Mirror.
Celtic’s greatest ever captain Billy McNeil (left) thinks Celtic have strengthened their hold on the league while Rangers need to get their shit together to challenge. Cesar has spoken, and Cesar don’t lie.
