Hair of the Dog - Match Day Morning

By: Cham | December 9th, 2006

east_end_park04m.jpgSome thoughts prior to today’s Celtic away match with Dunfermline Athletic at East End Park:

Celtic: 14-2-1 (5-2-1 Away)
Dunfermline: 3-3-11 (3-4-1 Home)

Last 10 meets: 8 wins Celtic, 2 wins Dunfermline, 0 draws

Celtic players out for injuries: Dutch Forward Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink, and Scottish Defenders Mark Wilson, Gary Cadwell and John Kennedy.

An Educated Opinion:
Given the disappointment in Copenhagen with defense and away match form, Celtic will allow their offense against Dunfermline to be their good defense. In the previous 10 matches, Celtic has outscored Pars 32 goals and conceding only 5. Dunfermline brings in a two game SPL losing streak, where Celtic, though losing in Denmark, hasn’t lost a Scottish Premier match since its 1-2 loss to Hearts in early August.

Celtic may have a few major names out for this fixture, but everyone tuned to the Scottish Premier would agree that Dunfermline carries the title of most unlucky, when you acknowledge their 7 players sidelined for match day.

Prediction: Celtic away win, 2-nil.
