John, Andy & Matt, I’m Talking to You!
By: JT | March 10th, 2008Unfortunately, the time has come to end my authorship of the Celtic Offside. Having started a more conventional job (i.e. one with health benefits, etc.), I’ve come to the conclusion that I won’t be able to deliver the quality that you’ve become accustomed to on this particular site.
I feel that anything less than 100% commitment to the blog is unnaceptable, and does a disservice to the club that matters so much to me and supporters around the world. Therefore, I need to step aside.
That said, I expect the individual(s) who take over the blog to be just as dedicated to bringing all the Celtic news that’s fit to print to you on a frequent basis. A dash of humor would help too.
If that sounds like something you can handle, send two sample posts immediately to daryl@theoffside.com. The blog has gone unwritten for too long already due to my commitments.
Its been my great pleasure to write about Celtic in this forum, and to interact with followers of Celtic and their opponents. Thanks to Bob, Martha, and Daryl for helping shepard this site into the behemoth its become.
Hasta luego for now, and ‘Mon the Hoops!

Stupid real jobs, always stupid taking away our stupid best writers. We’ll miss you on here, and here’s hoping we get a replacement on quick. Until then, I’ll do my best to cover the basics of Celtic news over at the Scotland Offside.

Good to hear that you’re interested, Matt. As it is, there are only three SPL blogs on here (Scotland, Celtic and Hearts) that ever get updated - we can’t lose the Celtic one.

I’m sorry to hear you’re leaving, JT; I’ve enjoyed reading your blog (despite having no prior interest in Celtic FC). Cheers and good luck.

Good luck, JT, and thanks for educating novices like myself about Celtic football. You not only made me more of a fan of the sport, you introduced me to a great tradition. It’s been fun. (And you are a fantastic son, besides!)
