John Kennedy to Norwich
By: Matt | July 27th, 2008Well, it was just a matter of where. John Kennedy had reported to Motherwell’s camp this summer but the ‘well and Celtic could not come to terms financially. So instead of staying in Scotland, the oft injured Kennedy will be heading to the Canaries to join Norwich. Norwich were able to beat out not only Motherwell but Preston as well for Kennedy and the 24 year old defender will at least be in the Canaries for 6 months until January. Kennedy of course came to the Celtic first team with high hopes from supporters and the club, injuries have set his career back years after a knee injury in 2004 and then re-injuring his knee three years later in a Champions League tie with Shaktar Donetsk. Like the rumored move to Motherwell, this seems like a win-win for Celtic and Kennedy. A chance to play in the first team for Kennedy and to get his career on back in Norwich and if he improves and stays healthy then Celtic can get him back in six months and if not then they get a break from paying his wages. Hopefully John Freakin’ Kennedy (JFK for short) stays healthy and gets back on track.
