Meet the Celts–The Holy Goalie
By: JT | June 6th, 2007My intention was to write up all the Keepers that are in Celtic’s first team squad, but I quickly determined that Artur Boruc, aka The Holy Goalie aka King Artur, is worthy of his very own post. For me, Boruc was the Celts Player of the Year. He made countless huge saves, vociferously marshaled the defense, and stoned penalty takers left and right, most famously Louis Saha in the 90th minute of a Champions League encounter with Manchester Utd at Parkhead with Celtic leading 1-0. Here it be:
He lives in Glasgow with his sexy wife Katarzyna, and the glam couple has been proclaimed the Polish Dave & Vicki. He saved three Polish folks, one a pregnant woman, from being attacked by some drunk punks in a Glasgow park. And he winds up Rangers fans. But who doesn’t like winding up Rangers fans?
After his displays for Poland in the World Cup and this season for Celtic, The King has started to make a name for himself. Rumors of a transfer have been heard, most prominently to Arsenal. I suppose a transfer is inevitable, but hopefully that’s still a few years away. If he can keep his haggis consumption under control, he might just become one of the world’s best.

Boruc is a great keeper - I hope you can keep hold of him too … even though he’s hell for Caley to shoot on, the SPL would be worse off as a league without his quality.
