Of Bhoys and Men - Artur is on our minds.
By: Cham | December 22nd, 2006
With so much being made about the upcoming transfer window regarding those many European lads up for grabs, and the potential that some could be wearing Hoops by January, not as much, at least in most of the journals, is being said about who might be leaving the Strachan’s fold.
The Evening Times, as of noontime today, says he’s staying, not going to London. So that’s that, right?
We’re talking about Artur Boruc, Celtic’s number 1, who just recently only allowed 1 goal from Gers a week agowith a healthy lot of impressive finger tip saves. But the focus this last week has not been Boruc’s goalkeeping ability, as it is first class in the Scottish Premier and perhaps could stand up with the likes of any of the European champion clubs.
Now, let’s just say it. We love this guy. He’s good. Top class. He’s outspoken. He shouts his mind off at the sometimes lagging Celtic defense, but is an ardent supporter of his mates, his coach and his club in the press.
And this is why he’s caught the eye of such famed London clubs, most notably Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal, potentially replacing an aging Mighty Jens (or Crazy Jens, you World Cup watchers). Boruc could be grabbing attention from any of the Premier’s Big 4 (Arsenal, Chelski, Liverpuddle, and Manchester United).
Now who’s talking? In Glasgow’s top print The Herald, Boruc’s agent says he’s staying put–
Agent-speak. I absolutely hate agents and their speak. And we’ve seen it a hundred times, like with the major transfers of the English Premier (see: CA$Hley Cole). They can say ’staying put, staying put’ for ages, and then when it comes down to it, the footballer comes out publicly and says what’s really on his mind.
So is Artur Boruc going to stay in hoops into the new year? Who knows? But his agent says he’s saying, and that’s something, eh?
We are Celtic. This is the Celtic Offside report.

Cham,
Of course, the only way that King Artur will move is if it’s to a club still in the Champions League. But, it’ll also have to be in a starting job. Otherwise, why go?
I saw an article that linked him to ManU. I think that is more likely to happen than going to Arsenal. I think the Gunners have had enough of a fiery keeper with Jens.
If Artur goes to the Red Devils, it’ll mean having him alongside Larsson. Too much to watch!
