Picture of the Undetermined Amount of Time: Haw, Haw, Haw.
By: Matt | July 26th, 2009They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and when I am busy, posting a picture rather than writing a thousand words seems economical. It could also be an important and/or a interesting picture that I would like to share. However, I hesitate to call it a “picture of the week” or something like that because I am not sure how often I will post it. This is one of those instances though.

Can fans of English teams come here and taunt us more often? First, West Brom fans get a bit big in their britches, which gets Celtic a new coach, striker, and midfielder. Then Spurs fans come and talk about how bad Scottish football is, and they lose 2-0 to the Celtic reserves. Keep it coming!

Congratulations on beating spurs, never liked them. But a word of caution -for every gloating victory over an epl side there are the shaky 0-0 draws against championship sides like Cardiff. Please keep things in perspective and stop labelling all the English eh

Chris-Didn’t know Cardiff was in England
I don’t usually like to gloat, but when the aforementioned sides come on here and tell us how crappy Scottish football is and then we gub them, I think it’s fair for us to gloat a bit, don’t you? I wasn’t trying to say all English teams are the same. In fact that was my main point, just because you are an English side doesn’t mean you are better than the rest of the world. Now, bring on Man U and Chelsea….just kidding.

I actually thought Cardiff a superior team to Spurs, they managed to draw against our first XI. Spurs were tanked by our reserves.

I think we will find the true value of this win and others previous-when we meet Dynamo Moscow in the Champions League on Wednesday. Beating the English is all very well and good-and it is-but pre-season friendlies are just preludes to the REAL DEAL. Looking good for now-let’s hope we can ascend to the hights required when it really matters. Hail Hail.

Eddie Murray-It’s nice to have some positivity going into such a big match though. I can’t imagine how we would have done if we had to qualify last year after having such a shite preseason. Hopefully this good play and the Parkhead roar will give us 3 or 4 goals on Thursday. Hail Hail!

A very pleasing win to say the least. 100% unbeaten preseason. 3 wins out of 4. Averaging more than 2 goals a game and we have yet to concede. However let me cast you back to Strachans second era in charge. We played 9 friendlies. Our record – we won 1 match. Scored 3 goals and conceded 15. What did this horrible pre-season setup for the coming year. Winning the league at a canter, first time into the last 16 and a Scottish Cup aswell.
Okay obviously its pleasing to start so well, and I’m not putting down Mowbray (I’ll be supporting him even more than I did Strachan and O’Neil) but say we were struggling in the league, we just had a shock defeat to St Mirren and we’re out of Europe, will we be thinking well at least we won the Wembley Cup. Maybe I have been too pessimistic, maybe its the Champions League game soon thats making me nervous. But what I should maybe just have said is lets not read TOO much into preseason.
All the best to Mogga and the Bhoys on Wednesday. Picked up my ticket today and I’ll be roaring them to victory on Wednesday.
Hail Hail!

Stevie G-Obviously if the situation that you described were to occur, things wouldn’t be as chipper. However, after the disappointment of last year, I think people are looking for something to be excited about. These results so far have done that, hopefully it continues. Wednesday should give us an indication where we are though. I like the phrase “Cautiously optimistic”.
