Strachan talking to the Toon?
By: Matt | September 11th, 2008
The Tim-ernet is a buzz with rumors of Gordon Strachan talking to Newcastle about their job opening. Various Celtic message boards are swearing up and down that their source is saying this is true. If Strachan thinks expectations are unrealistic at Celtic, try it at Newcastle. Whether or not this has any truth to it remains to be seen, but stayed tuned to this space. The fans and Strachan have had a roller coaster relationship with the fans hating Strachan one week and loving him the next. I do not think anyone would argue he has a tendency to be stubborn with his roster, but it would be hard pressed to argue with his results. Three titles, two years running in qualifying for the last 16 of the Champions League is nothing to sneeze at. If Strachan were to leave for more Southern skies, my pick to be the next Celtic manager will be on the other side of the touch line this weekend in Mark McGhee, but we will just have to wait and see.

21-It has been a rocky relationship Gordon Strachan has with the Celtic support, to say the least. I think he isn’t going anywhere, but I guess we’ll see. I agree with you, why anyone would WANT to go to Newcastle is beyond me…You should still give us back our song! Hail Hail!
