The Frankenstein of Transfer Rumors
By: Matt | July 31st, 2008
Gabriel Tamas has officially received the nickname of “Brett Favre” for me. If you do not understand that reference, go to espn.com and look it up. Tamas’ name will not fucking disappear from the news and will continues to be linked with Celtic. Apparently the Romanian defender has made it clear that he wants to suit up in the green and white. It sounds like he’s realized that no one wants to pay him the 20,000 quid a week that he apparently wanted. Apparently, his agent today, or well one of his alleged agents, said that Celtic and Tamas were ‘very close’ to a salary agreement and that the only problem lays with Auxerre and Celtic agreeing. As far as this Tamas agent knew, they deal was definitely not dead, a far cry from what Chief Executive Peter Lawwell said a week ago. Perhaps one of Tamas’ other agents handled that phone call from Lawwell, who really knows but regardless it still seems like there is a chance that Tamas will be playing for Celtic this year. I’d also like to announce that I too am representing Romanian Defender Gabriel Tamas and if Peter Lawwell needs to contact me, feel free to leave a comment.
Celtic have also been linked with other defenders recently, presumably ones I have not just announced that I am the agent for. The most well known of these is West Brom left back Paul Robinson. Celtic coach Gordon Strachan has made his interest known to West Brom and apparently Robinson is interested in a move to Scotland. It will all come down to Celtic and West Brom being able to come to an agreement on a fee for Robinson.
Celtic have also offered trials to two young Polish midfielders Radoslaw Majewski and Szymon Pawlowski. Both are attacking midfielders who like to join the strikers up front from time to time and Majewski has been capped by the Polish National Team. Negotiations are underway for the two Poles.

I’d like it if we still got him, but christ almighty! Make up your mind Tamas on what you want to do!
