The Number of Celtic Polish Keepers Set to Double
By: Matt | December 17th, 2008
Reports are in that Celtic and Polish Dundee United Keeper Lukasz Zaluska have agreed to a pre-contract deal that will bring the Polish keeper to Celtic at the end of the season. Of course, this brings up speculation about Zaluska’s countryman and current Celtic keeper Artur Boruc. After a impressive Euro 2008 performance, Boruc was on the wish list of many top European clubs, however Boruc has seen a slight dip in form and has been involved in controversy with the Polish National Team about his nightlife and antics. For the time being, it seems that Zaluska is destined to replace Marc Brown as Boruc’s understudy. However, if one of the big boys of Europe put a large sum of money on the table for Boruc, Zaluska would be a more than ample fill in for Boruc being one of the better keepers in the SPL. Zaluska had this to say about a move to Parkhead, “I have told Dundee United that I won’ t be signing a new deal. I have not signed for anyone yet, but my agent has been speaking to Celtic. He has spoken to other clubs as well. But moving to Celtic would be a very exciting move, it’s a massive club. I have ambitions to play at the highest level and a move like this would make that possible. I have been in the United team for a year now and I think I am ready for a step up. The Champions League is the highest point in club football and that is where everyone wants to play. I think I have the ability for that now.” With Zaluska moving to Glasgow this summer, it is likely that Marc Brown will be sold, possibly as soon as January. If this occurs and Dominic Cervi sorts his work permit out, might we see the big American Bhoy as the temporary back-up to Artur Boruc?

CD-It hasn’t come out what has actually been said, but most rumors say that Strachan was yelling at McGeady for his performance in the Hearts game and McGeady called Strachan an “arsehole”.
