The Wizardry of Nakamura

By: JT | June 22nd, 2007

A Shunsuke Nakamura tribute is in order for this fine summer Friday. We’re light on transfer news of value, so what better time to celebrate the Japanese Genius? He really deserves a superb nickname. Any suggestions?

Amazingly, the Neil Lennon interview continues on for a second day at The Daily Record. Today he discusses last season’s comical meltdown at Rangers. He says the players hid behind Barry Ferguson and let their supporters & former Ibrox boss Paul LeGuen down with all their squabbling. Finally, he delves into the depths of his personal battle with depression, and the effect that its had on him.

Naka is fun to watch when he’s on. His free kicks are incredible and he’s got great moves, but he’s one of those players that can disappear for long stretches of a match. If he was more consistent, he could be one of the great midfielders in Europe.
