Thoughts on Rangers…

Lennon
So, not a great day on Sunday. We’d have to be honest straight away and say we got exactly what we deserved- absolutely nothing. The first half was fairly even- though we really struggled to get to grips with Naismith, I thought. The lead, which came after a succession of corners, was rather fortunate. Any hopes of three more points were gone within 15 minutes of the restart…

I was a little disappointed to hear Lennon moaning about the referee to be honest. I mean, it was a blatant dive by Broadfoot, and the referee wasn’t even looking at it properly, but he also gave us a share of odd decisions. Stokes could have gone in the first minute (probably should have gone) and Hooper could easily have been pulled up for a handball when he scored.

It shouldn’t come as a total shock that we looked a little less organised and stable than they did- we’re pretty much a completely new side, with a young and inexperienced coaching staff, whilst they have been together for a few years now. We should improve, provided Lennon and the players are given time. And, the loss of Shaun in the first half- probably the one truly creative player on the park- was a huge blow. Having said that, it was rather worrying that you never got the impression we’d get back into it once they went ahead. And yet again, and I really hate to labour this point, what on earth is Samaras there for? A man who is to slow and cumbersome for the SPL really has nowhere else to go…

All in all, a very disappointing day, though the fact that we have a game in midweek, at Perth in the CIS Cup, may be the kind of lift we need.

Have a good week folks.

Fair enough I take some of your points there. I disagree with NL commrnt. Hes spot on, think about it…its an opportunity to rid the game of cheats like Mcdonald and others. I attended an old firm game when Dougal refd it was only my second but he was horrific, yet no one cept me felt robbed..why? used to it everybody is! No NL is speaking for me at least, no more kit gloves, lets sort it out once and for all

Fair points, although Lenny had to speak up about the pen decision, think smith wouldnt have? great point about Samaras, been trawling the BBC Boards all week and to my astonishment some of our fans have been asking if sammy was our best player on Sunday!!!? If our fans have accepted he’d the calibre of player fit to wear the Hoops we are in dire straits. I would say he’s the worst striker I have seen in 20 years (And being played on the wing!) Lenny needs to get Stokes up front and Sammy on the bench pronto.

Nice information, many thanks to the author. It is incomprehensible to me now, but in general, the usefulness and significance is overwhelming. Thanks again and good luck!

Your blog has made me think about an issue from another perspective. This is quite rare when I change my opinion about such issues but it looks that you’ve done it. The day has started with something new! Thank you!
