Of Bhoys and Men – Poor Road Form
By: Cham | December 6th, 2006FC Copenhagen 3

Celtic resumed their poor form away from Glasgow, giving up two first-half goals (2 & 27) and an additional second-half goal (57) before Celtic began to even think offensively. Celtic tried to salvage the afternoon, perhaps too little/too late, when Czech international Jiri Jirosik scored a meaningless second-half goal in the 75 minute.
In the same breath, Manchester United defeated Portuguese Benfica by the same 3-1 differential, clinching the UEFA Group F, which Celtic left up for grabs. Celtic still advances to the the UEFA First Knockout Round, but, bottom-line, the Group F title was Celtic’s to win, and perhaps relaxed enough to give up three away goals and the Group Title
Even still, cheers to Gordon Strachan and his Bhoys for their serious effort in the UEFA Champions League run, and to Sir Alex and United for winning the Group.
We are Celtic. This is the Celtic Offside Report.

It is the curse of The Offside. Welcome aboard. Brighter days and a more Celtic-like look and feel to the blog are ahead.
Cheers

On the ManU Report (following the Celtic victory) I commented that I was euphorious that Celtic pulled out the win.
I said that it wasn’t so much because they had beaten ManU (well, it was that, too), but it was because I knew that if they had any chance at all of advancing, it was to win at home.
Looks like I was right (along with millions of Hoops fans worldwide).
Let’s hope that Gordon can find a little magic for the knock-out stage.
