Waldo scares Celts

So, judging by the previous Hamilton post’s reception where I joked that the Accies kits make it seem as if they are a team of “Where’s Waldo’s”, apparently no one agrees with me or thinks this a funny/witty observation. Well I’ve got just one thing to say to you people. Suck it. It’s funny, trust me. Of course it doesn’t help in the previous game when the Accies come out it there away kits that look like the knicked our away kits and painted the green strip a long the neck with a blue sharpie, but I am digressing. Waldo’s XI certainly were not missing on Sunday, as the bottom of the SPL club opened the scoring for the day in the 15th minute with a Richard Offiong goal and seemed to hang with the Champs, who were going for their tenth win in a row,for most of the first half. Celtic were able to equalize in the 40th minute when Shunsuke Nakamura seemingly put away the first penalty in god knows how long after Accies defender Martin Canning was sent off. Celtic perhaps seemed to play one of their worst games of the season, perhaps a result of the compounding injuries and Scott McDonald missing the game due to illness. The game puttered along the second half without incident and remained tied 1-1. Back from plundering the high sees and drinking rum, the good pirate Paul Hartley decided to end all this foolishness in the 86th minute when he struck a rocket (or should I say cannonball?) of a shot into the back of the net, and three points were saved for the day. It never is good to struggle against a team like Hamilton, but there might be a positive to come out of the day. Celtic showed determination and did not give up. You are not going to have your best game every day, but champions are able to overcome, push through, and get the result. That was Celtic did. It was unrealistic to expect Celtic to continue to play at such a high level with all the injuries, but at the end of the day, Celtic is still four points over Rangers and that is all that matters.
