Arsenal 3-Celtic 1

By: Matt | August 27th, 2009

I understand that Arsenal were well on there way to the win, and easily cruised after Eduardo did his Greg Luganis impression. Some points must be made on this shameful display. First of all, if I was a Arsenal fan, I would be EMBARRASSED if a player on my club first performed such heinous acts of simulation to earn a penalty and then after converting said penalty, go over and run to the camera and pose like he performed some great football feat and actually showed some skill, besides being able to fall over and embarrass himself. Secondly, while Arsenal scored two more goals on the day, earning your first goal in such a way will crush any team’s morale. If Arsenal’s first goal isn’t earned by a cheat, who knows what would have happened. Celtic had an uphill climb, but they scored 2 away from home in the last round. No matter what, what was supposed to be an entertaining fixture is marred by one of the bigger problems in the game today. Oh well, onto Hibs on the weekend and the Europa League.

How many called for a ban when Capt Fantastic (cheater) Gerrard, Drogba and the dive master himself C. Ronaldo dove east and west? One word for ya all…HYPOCRITES! One rule for Arsenal and an other for the rest!
Lets punish EVERY player in PL AND SPL…no wait..lets BAN football all together!
So answer me this Celtic fans…The Celtic players NEVER dive? Donati and McGeady NEVER dove?
I guess Celtic must be the most honest team in football since they can throw such big boulders in a glasshouse! Celtic/British media= hypocrites

2-game ban, fine. He deserves it, maybe 3 or 4 – most gunners won’t disagree. We’ve been cheated much more than we’ve cheated others and it’s a shit way to lose. Let’s clean up the game from here on then.

I am surprised Eduardo did it though. Not sure what he was thinking. Maybe he got bored a bit and wanted to see what would happen. Pires cleaned up his act quickly with one notable failing. Eboue has really cleaned up his act. Eduardo probably won’t do it again. But we’ve had to watch Van Nistleroy and then Ronaldo and even Rooney cheat for points over the years so don’t expect too much sympathy in the heat of the moment.

Pistol Pete-Well, the SPL actually has banned players for such dives, banning Kyle Lafferty last year. I could give fuck all about Gerrard or whoever else you mentioned, that’s the EPL’s problem. You throw out a bunch of hypothetical’s but have no evidence of McGeady or Maloney diving…good argument.

If anyone is the hyporcrite, it’s Arse and Eduardo. Arse calling for divers to be banned, but pussy footing around the fact his own player went down like a cheap whore in the news conference. And then Eduardo hamming it up for the camera after doing nothing to earn a goal. What a joke. Away to the library with you.

Using Droghba, Gerrard, and Ronaldo as evidence on a Celtic blog. What a fucking knob you are, Pete.

FAO of goonie pete. What are u fucking talking about. Gerrard, Ronaldo and the rest of the money whoring EPL has nothing to do with Celtic. In the SPL we retroactively ban divers through video replay. McGeady and Donati dove to win penalties?? I must not have been watching the same game as you. To be fair it doesnt seem that any gooners were watching the match, especially at your library.

I heard that Donati is signed and sealed for Bari. Can anyone confirm?? If so, I am overjoyed for the Galletti, but at the same time a little sorry to take him from the Hoops

Mike-I’ve heard rumors that he’s said his goodbyes at Celtic, but that was message board speculation. I have not heard confirmation that the deal is done. However, I wouldn’t be shocked if it was.
