Hooligans on Film – Red Star Belgrade
By: Cham | February 14th, 2007Since Bob gave a tip of the hat to Bocca and their fine school of hooligany, I figured I’d throw an entry in there.
With the rest of the Scottish League games looking like mere formality, we’re currently awaiting Milan and the home match at Parkhead. Also in the mix is where the away match will be played, due to the atrocious actions of some Italian football fans last week (as if Italian club football had a good name to begin with in the first place).
So in tribute to the jerks in Sicily, I give you real hooligans. Now, this may not be my place, but I figure a Scottish Football reporter (especially one of Celtic)has a few insights on the world of hooligany.
Featured in Franklin Foer’s How Soccer Explains the World, the gangs that surround Red Star Belgrade are famous for their shenanigans, as well as causing serious injury to opponents fans (and opponents on pitch, in some cases). These crazies have been known to interrupt their own practices and scare their own into better play.
Now, in now way I supporting the violent acts of hooligans, especially those of the Ultras of Red Star Belgrade, but some of the wildness that ensues, even right after full-time is enough to make the hair on your neck stand on up. So, I give you Hooligans on Film – Red Star Belgrade
The are Hooligans Celtic. The is the Celtic Offside Report.
