Celtic Loan Ben Hutchison and Simon Ferry
By: Matt | August 27th, 2009Celtic pair of youngsters, Ben Hutchinson and Simon Ferry, have been sent on loan to Swindon Town until January 1st. Hutchinson, 21, arrived at Celtic Park from Middlesbrough in January 2008, where he had made nine first-team appearances, eight of which were in the Barclays Premier League. Hutchinson has been mostly in the reserves as he also battled with injury, although he has a handful of SPL games under his belt and played a role in Celtic’s Champions League draw against Manchester United last November. Simon Ferry, midfielder, came up through the ranks at Celtic and was rewarded for his potential with a four-and-a-half year professional deal in January 2006. Ferry was a regular fixture on Gordon Strachan’s bench by season’s end last year and was also featured in the Wembley Cup this off-season, but has not been included in the squad much since the regular season has started. Hopefully, this move gives these youngsters a chance to learn and grow, and come back to Celtic better players with more experience.
