Hibs interested in Mark Brown; Lukasz Zaluska introduced
By: Matt | July 7th, 2009
Hibernian have shown an interest in Celtic back-up, and now with Lukaz Zaluska and Dominic Cervi a back-up of a back-up of a back-up, goalkeeper Mark Brown. Hibs are hoping to get Brown on a free, to which some Celtic supporters say “We’ll give you a tener to take him!” All joking aside, a combination of coming from Rangers and struggling with form in his time at Celtic, Brown has perhaps been less of a fan favorite than former coach Gordon Strachan. After starting at Caley, Brown elected for a life of reserve games and life behind Artur Boruc’s wide arse. Brown is now looking for a game, so hopefully Celtic see the back of him soon. Taking his place, but perhaps giving Boruc some competition, will be Lukasz Zaluska. Zaluska was introduced yesterday at Celtic, after signing a precontract in December. It’s been a long time coming for Zaluska, who didn’t exactly wow Celtic fans in his sort of audition in the final match for Dundee United against Rangers. However, he’s now with Celtic and will be dealing with our dodgy back line instead of the Tangerine’s dodgy back line. Zaluska said of signing “It’s a great honour for me to sign for Celtic. It’s a dream come true and I would like to thank Craig Levein at Dundee United for the chance he gave me. It’s because of him that I earned this move to Celtic. Today, I am with Celtic. I will play in front of all of these great supporters and I will be challenging for a place in the side. Nobody wants to be No.2 goalkeeper and I want to prove in every training session that I deserve to play. I am competitive and so are Artur and the other goalkeepers. I’m sure this will be very beneficial for Celtic. I am friends with Artur and we are both challenging for one position, but that won’t be a problem.”
