Ki and Celtic Agree to January Move
By: Matt | August 28th, 2009South Korea international Ki Sung-yong has claimed to have agreed a deal to join Celtic in the January transfer window. As I previously mentioned, Celtic, Ki, and his club FC Seoul were in talks to try and bring Ki to Glasgow by the August transfer deadline. FC Seoul decided that they were going to keep Ki at least until January. Ki is telling media that he will be on his way to Celtic, but not until January, which is the K-League season after a fee believed to be in the region of £2.1million was agreed according to local Korean media. “I am so happy to achieve my dream of playing in Europe. “I want to go to Europe after Seoul get a good result in the Asian Champions League,” Ki told Yonhap News Agency about joining Celtic. This news comes as it was learned that Massimo Donati was sold to Bari of Serie A for a reported fee in the neighborhood of £1.1 million to £1.5 million.
