Silly Season Begins Early
By: Matt | May 23rd, 2009With the SPL season not settled until tomorrow, but the “silly season” of the transfer season has already seemingly begun for Celtic. There have been a few names linked with comings and going and Celtic. One name linked with a move to Celtic is the familiar name of Marc Janko. Celtic supporters might remember being linked with the Austrian striker Janko this January, but the deal was not worked out by the deadline. The Red Bull Salzburg player has been linked to a move to Celtic this summer. In fact, the striker recently told the Austrian press, “I know that my agent is in contact with Celtic. I can go back to Glasgow if the contract is ready for signing”. Austrian sources have even gone so forward to say that the deal is “99% done”, but that and a $1.25 will get you a cup of coffee. Here is a video to give you an idea of Janko’s skills.
Perhaps the turn-around player of the year in the SPL, Scott Brown has had his name mentioned in a possible move to the EPL. Tottenham has had it’s named linked with the attacking center midfielder and there are rumors that Brown could be heading to London and the EPL for eight million quid. Could the sales of Brown and possibly Artur Boruc be financing a spending spree for Celtic this summer? To be honest, I am not holding my breath on it.
