Celtic 3-Rangers 2-Eric Cartman Analysis

“It’s on!”-Eric Cartman
Two Scott McDonald goals and a Barry “Robo Cop” Robson penalty give Celtic the 3-2 victory over the hated Rangers at Celtic Park today. McDonald got things started with a goal in the fourth minute that looked like he might have been offside, but the goal stood. Rangers then equalized and took the lead off of two corners that were headed in by Weir, who was later taken off for injury. It looked like Celtic would be going into halftime down, but Aiden McGeady played a beauty of a ball to Scott McDonald in the 43rd minute and Skippy got his second goal and tied it up. The second half was a back and forth affair with both sides getting chances, but Scott McDonald again was the playmaker, after he was taken down in the box by Broadfoot. After last game’s penalty miss, McDonald let Robson step in and net it home and it was 3-2 Celtic. That is the way it stayed. Rangers will be missing more players with the injury to Weir and Whittaker getting a red card in the 92nd minute. Celtic captain Stephen McManus had to be subbed off in the second half due to injury and had to be replaced by Darren O’Dea.

What exactly did he do? Honor a countryman? Respect and honor the dead? The shirt never said anything about any other religion or group of people and if a certain group cannot respect his right to worship whoever he likes and do so in whatever manner he wishes, that’s there problem. Furthermore, if you think Boruc is a “muppet” then please stop reading the blog.

In a country where sectarianism is a huge concern, this man has blessed himself in front of the Rangers fans, and been reprimanded by the SFA. Then today he parades around in this shirt. It’s not about respect for this man, it’s all about rubbing salt. Had they lost today, would he have done this?

The Boruc issues (crossing himself, the pope shirt) are definitely borderline sectarian, if only because of his intentions. It seems to me that he’s doing them not ONLY to honor his own religion, but also to wind up the Rangers fans, and when you use religion that way, it could be considered sectarian … still, when it comes down to it, it’s a tshirt and a very common religious gesture. In the long sad history of sectarianism in Scotland, there’s been far far worse. It wasn’t inciting violence, and it wasn’t demeaning Protestants, so I don’t have a huge problem with it.

It wasn’t a problem until Rangers fans made it a problem. There were no problems when Boruc blessed himself at Easter Road or Aberdeen. The man is a Catholic and blesses himself before every game. When Rangers fans got mad about that and tried to have him arrested for it, he probably wanted to get it up them after that, but there was no problem until the Huns made one.

When Gasgoine tried that playing of the pipes Rangers fans saw it as a laugh so payback is a bitch. Celtic represent the Catholics in Scotland and Ireland and Boruc idenifies with that it was cheeky i admit but seriously whats the big deal???

fuck sectarianism are you havin a laugh, nothing Artur has done is sectarian in any form, whatsoever. so what he incites the huns, they get angry at him, who gives a toss? he has never made any bones about his piety (blessing himself when he plays international/when he was in poland) and he was always an avid supporter of John Paul, a countrymen and the leader of Artur’s religion.
he hasn’t changed anything he’s ever done, just when he does it now he has a wee chuckle cause he knows how much it pisses der hun off.

“Explain the significance”? What a condescending ass. The man knew exactly what he was doing. And for that, I applaud him. Rangers can dish it out, but they can’t take it.
On the football side of things, how about Robson? He’s looking like a better signing every week.

Anyone who has a problem with Artur wearing that shirt has got to get a life. Over here in the States, when every athlete points up for every little thing that goes well, that T-shirt Boruc is wearing is small potatoes indeed. The strangers and their fans need to deal with their REAL problems, that they could have put this thing away at Parkhead but did not. Now, our Bhoys, which seemed so completely out of it after the Motherwell debacle, are in their heads and stomping around in there having a grand old time! So go ahead, complain about the HG’s T-shirt. Maybe he’ll wear it when the Hoops hoist the trophy AGAIN. Then the strangers can really go enjoy their summer.

Musab-Celtic are five points up in the league, but Rangers have 3 games in hand. So it is still Rangers league to lose, but it’s looking a lot more realistic than earlier. Rangers have a tough trip to Easter Road to play Hibernian this weekend that they can drop points. If Celtic win out and Rangers lose and tie any of the games then Celtic will take it. As we’ve been saying, KEEP THE FAITH! I also watched the Istanbul Derby this weekend, good win for your boys and you can’t match the atmosphere of a Fener-Galatarasay game!
